quick and probably stupid question about carb

can anyone tell me what the long screw that the throttle goes into does? My bike was reving high on its own until i tightened that screw almost all the way the down, what does this screw change when you tighten it or back it out?

do you mean on top of the carb where the cable goes in?

when you adjust that screw up ur pulling the slide up and thats why its reving.only use it to get slack out the cable

since u have no tors it the cable slack adjuster for your cable its just like the one by your throttle u hade it to tight so it move your slide up causeing hight iddle. hope this helps u
