I just got a 02 blaster and id like to change the oil, i read the downloadable manual from this site and it says it uses engine oil and transmission oil. Is this correct? If so how to do i check each? I only find one window and no dipstick...if not do i use 2 stroke yamalube (which is what the manual says for engine oil) or do i use just plain 10w30 (which is what the manual says for transmission oil) ive looked here and tried to search (hard to search when it makes you use more than four letters) but i read that lots recommended the yamalube so is there no tranny fluid? Also the manual mentions nothing of a filter is this correct also? Ive looked up and down and i think it just takes 1 type of oil and the trans and engine share it and the engine oil there referring to is the auto inject oil that mixes w/the gas. Thats my guess im not good w/engines so id rather not go on my guess. Any help is appreciated.

if your auto oiler is still hooked you fill the jug under your seat with 2stroke injecter oil and your trans. takes regular oil, just fill it up to the window.

Ok theres transmision oil which is down on your clutch cover(rear brake pedal side) and it has a plug there and the drains right underneath the bottom of the engine. the ENGINE OIL is in a resevoir/tank under the left rear fender. dont mix em up. you should block off the oil injection system anyway, saves you the hassel of rebuilding if it fails. dont mean to scare you, but then your looking at rebuilding your top end, seizing it or blowing the crank bearing. you block it off then mix your gas 32:1.

Ya ill tackle that when it warms up more for sure, and i wanna take the airbox lid off get a different filter and rejet. One day oh one day...lol I:I

ok are you premixing you gas?
if not there is a oil injector system on the back under the seat that needs to have 2 stroke oil in it.
then the transmission. you can see the level on the clutch cover, there is a little clear window.
you drain it on the bottom there is a drain plug.
fill it up with belray gear saver or any brand. other will have more suggestions
