So I was going to bring back's AWK thread from the dead about this but the pics are gone and YB had five pages of answers stating he would ask kennedy so.....yea just thought I'd start a new one.

http://www.blasterforum.com/engine-13/v-force-3-install-23501/index6.html

Anyway so I had ordered two different sized pro-design manifold for v-force reeds. I just opened the package of the first to install it on my frewshly installed motor. Apparently these were made for VF2's not VF3's as mine is the same one AWK got but the packages are labeled for VF and have vforce manifold part number. Anbd they are both the same so I do not thin they mislabeled both packages.

So here is the questions.

1. Does anyone have a pro-design with VF3's that did not need modded.

2. Can anyone post a pic of a stock pro-design manifold, I'd like to see the difference.

3. In Awk's thread it came down to two different ways of installing -

A. Cut off half-moon on VF3 insert, mark it the same as billet manifold and port out manifold to match. (AWK if you havve pics still of this I'll throw you some greenz to post)

B. Leave out the crescent moon piece from the VF3's, someone posted they did this but never gave an idea of whether it worked?

I am going to call pro-design Tuesday as they do not have e-mail and see what they say, but any answers would be appreciated...........

Lets see some pics of this manifold. This will get mixed reviews on wether to cut out the moon or not.I personally have never tried it but I also did not want to cut it out.I am curious to see a pic of your manifold.I run a manifold on another blaster I have that I believe was a pro design manifold setup for a boost bottle.I ended up plugging the port for the boost bottle and cutting out all the material in the center.I have 3 other boots and they all are wide open to accept the vf3's.The modding I did to this cage by opening it up to accept it has worked great for 2+ years now.

heres what i did....................

cut off and lap sanded the vf3 nozzle

Ok, so I provided the pic of the label that this is v-force manifold...I am convinced VF2 not VF3

Awk has provided how he did his cutting the crescent as the billet part of the manifold already has this same angle

I am still going to try and contact pro-design to find out for sure as I have two of these but am thinking his way of modding is the way to go. I will post his PM pics next

Thank you again AWK, hopefully this helps others as well.........but I would like to get some definitive answers i.e. call pro-design and see a stock one

So, I actually left a message with pro-design but didn't want to wait to get this working
I cut the crescent and ported out both the billet manifold and the VF3 insert to match and have a smooth flow through the semi-elbow. It is now fully smooth and should work good. I'll be firing it up as soon as I get my airbox boot which should arrive today.....no need for pics as AWK already posted the exacty same above..

Lastly, I would warn that unless you have a steady hand and the right tools do not buy this combo. The modding is similiar to porting and you must be very exact to create a smooth transition for the airflow while not going far enough to change design of the inner cage. plastic is a biotch as with a dremel it tends to heat while sanding to get smooth. I spent a few hours sanding it by hand in direction of airflow while working down grits. The billet base of the manifold was done easily with a dremel, but is like porting a perfect crescent so must be done with care. I also hand sanded this to a near polish. Lastly, you are cutting into 200+ dollars of brand new parts so be wary and very careful if choosing this combo. I will post pics of the mod and it on my quad later today in my build thread......It does look trick though I must admit i'm glad I modded and just went for it.......but a lot of work for new parts.

So posted pics of the modded cage/manifold in build, but wanted to let you all know that I was correct they are made for VF2's and they will not be making new ones for VF3, they actually will only have stock style manifolds after the ones they have on hand are gone. Boots will still be available to switch carbs though. They did not seem to know what I was talking about with crescent piece. Is this only on the blaster
VF3's? They stated their banshee manifolds work with VF3's with no modding.
oh, and The difference in stock is the angle and hole size. I assume this would also need modded.

Anyway so yea modding if using VF3's.
