I posted a while back i was buying a FMF fatty gold series and a pro circuit silencer. I went to look at the used FMF fatty and it was pretty dented up, but the pro cirucuit silencer seemed in good shape. It was a type 386 i think. "But my question will i get any benefit from the pro circuit silencer while using my stock expansion chamber?" Sound, performance, etc. ?

Like they said, it will help a little. your main performance will come from the new header.
How bad is the FMF dented? If it isn't huge dents I'd imagine it would still be better over the stock header.

also you can probly get those dings and dents out of that pipe by running compressed air through the pipe im not sure about this but i belive what you do is block off one end of the pipe and then run compressed air through it which will force the dents back to normal

you might want to check to see it the silencer even fits into the pipe...bc i have 2 full sets...Pro circut pipe and silencer...and fmf fatty pipe and silence....the Pro circut silencer doesnt fit onto the fmf pipe. Only way it will is if you get a hose clamp.

I heard you fill it with water, block the ends off and freeze it. As the water expands it pushes the dents out.

wouldnt that cause it to rust though?

yes im sure it would.......

Yes this works, ive done it before on my old RM125,and my YZ250..

Fill it with water, freeze it over night..dents a are gone..warm the pipe with hot water and melt all the ice...now you spray engine cleaner inside the pipe...VERY HEAVY..it will get the junk and moist water out wipe the excess off..let it sit in the sun for for like an hour and bolt it up.

Thank you,i couldnt remember if you put gas in there and light it or use engine cleaner.

If your pipes ever clogged with junk pour gas in and light,it goes boom and is clean ahah.

that sounds like a good ass experimment.!!! the dents aint real big.. Like quarter size... about 3 of them .. some rust but it should polish off the chrome..
