Just picked up this 2003 Polaris Predator 90 for my soon to be eight year old son. He is loving it. Its a big step up from his Suzuki LT 50. Hope to do some riding at some sand pits sunday, videos to follow.

Attica with a group from a local forum. Its a great place to ride some jumps, hill climbs, big walls to berm off of. The kids love it and its easy to keep an eye on them.

get the motor ported, look for a good deal on a stage 6 or dr pulley clutch & lighten the rollers to about 4.25g each and that little polaris will run with your blaster off the line.....trust me! There is a guy on ebay "autotech355" who sells a ton of aftermarket stuff for that motor such as cylinder kits and stuffer cranks real cheap. I used his stuff for racing mx and it was all excellent quality that lasted as well as stuff guys paid 4x price for. There is another option to, call G-Force Powersports and ask for the tech guy Mike. He is a close friend of mine and his kid is the fastest 8yr old I ever saw. he can help you tune the clutch which is as important as the motor. If your not gonna race it but want more power, get a 45mm crank and 54mm cylinder and have it ported and It WILL holeshot a stock blaster for sure.....lol
you can alos get a used older pipe from an apex and it will mount up which will make it sound good and add power too.

Thanks for the info Goodman, as his skills improve it will be nice to give him more power. This thing is big enough for him to be on till he is like twelve, so I am sure along the way he is gonna want some more motor to work with. Nice to know there are some upgrades for it, as it sits now it rips compared to his 50cc.

first and easiest upgrade for quick power increase is remove rev limiter, there is a wire clip you remove off the cdi box. then get a uni filter to fit right onto the carb which I believe will be a 16mm carb, likely mikuni. I think the id of the filter will be 1.5" then put a 105main jet in it and a 22-24 pilot. I am in Florida so jetting may be diff where you are. But that will get you some nice gains. When you are ready to see it pull the front end up let me know, i will steer you right.

Sounds good, give him a couple of weeks and I am sure he will be ready to really rip. I do think the clutch needs adjusting because it hesitates a little on take off.

2good - I rode it in the backyard and with my 200 pounds on it took off quite well.

Videos of my kids at sand pits

This video is my sixteen year old daughter showing my eight year old son how easy this hill climb is.

Finally on our way out I asked him to do it for me as my Blaster was down and I was on foot

They love riding here. some small stuff for the kids and some bigger stuff too

This is Ben on his Tecate 250. Nice three wheeler, but I dont miss trikes at all.

i moved up from a heavily modded predator 90 i got when i was 6 and now i got the heavily modded blaster

sweet polaris !!
and looks like an awesome little riding area for sure

btw bummer....your brake parts arrived, gsxr's by next weekends ride !!!!!

Sweet looking forward to those brakes. I almost ran up over the top of the boy yesterday trying to catch him. That Polaris really moves and he is starting to get used to the bigger size and power. He was Jumping this tabletop jump yesterday and almost clearing the whole thing. Got some new video. He is already talking about when he is too big for this one he is going to get a blaster. Will post some new video tonight. Those sand pits are a great place to ride, perfect for kids you can see them wherever they are.
