i have an 05 blaster with a bunch of mods. The toomey pipe i have on it makes it hit the power band to highin the rpms in gears 3-6. so im wondering how to i get more power out of it. would changing the gearing make it any better? im more about power than speed and i do alot of trail riding so it sucks having an exhaust that hits high in. i want it to have an instant power band when i hit the throttle rather than having to get it wound out to get the power band to hit. it hist at about half throttle.

Get a different pipe. Look for one that is a torque pipe like an FMF.
What porting and carb are you running?
Changing the gearing isn't goin to effect the powerband at all really.
It's still goin to make the most power at the same rpms no matter what gears your running.

if you want more low end get an fmf mine has killer low end you could take your airbox lid off if it isnt already and rejet give you some better throtle response

My airbox lid is off and I'm running a 330 main jet, I can't go buy an fmf or dif pipe. I was just wondering what I could do to get it to hit lower on the throttle.

if you can't afford to change hard parts, adjust your riding. use the clutch to keep it in the upper rpms if you need to.

The Toomey is a great all-around pipe. Mostly, this sounds like it is a rider problem. A 2-stroke won't hit down low like that. It sounds like you want a 4-poke.

Wind it up and let er rip! A blaster doesn't even start making real power until after about 3000rpm. Ride in a lower gear.

learn how to shift dude. i ran that same pipe with that same jet and mine was pullin the fornt tires off the ground through corners in sand.

this just spins the wheels no matter what gear im in, in the snow the back tyres are small so its like having it geared for fast acceloration so.. haha and i havent had the bike for long, my first one so still just getting going on it but i love it !!

one handed riding to so a little cautious on throttle :P

Exactly. Blasters have very low gears stock. Add small tires and that just multiplies the effect.

i have the stock tyres to and when i compare them im in 4th gear with the little ones almost about to stall and thats the same speed as about to change into 2nd with nomal and that reving the tits off it
