Could this happen or will the plastic melt. I've used google but got different responses. Has anyone powder coated their plastics? If this doesn't work I am thinking about krylon fusion.

Better go get some sanding supplies and spray paint. The plastic is gonna melt long before the powder coat cures. Plastic and glass fiber (fiberglass) parts cannot be powdercoated properly without damaging them.

no u cant...the oven would be alittle rough on them and im sure theres other obvious reasons for those that are in the know

Painting plastics never works. Paint always chips, most paints cant withstand the gasoline if you spill a hair.

Buddy painted his.. heres what he did. First, he took some 60 grit sand paper to it, made it nice and rough. AFter that, he coated them with truck bed liner. That stuff is flexible, chemical resistant and provides a rough texture for paint to stick to, it also doesn't crack. After that, he applied about 4 coats of paint... So far it's all holding up.

We've tried plastic paints, krylon fusion, enamels, everything.. no go unless you have that bed liner. The liner can be found at walmart, automotive section. It comes in an spray can or if you have a sprayer, you can buy a big bulk of it. It runs out fast, probably need 3-4 cans, you'll want to layer it up.

its all in prep work, i painted mine with krylon fusion and its holding up great. BUT it does not like gas so a little care needs to be taken there
