porting reed cage?

its pretty easy but its not going to help much ,increasing the reed area especailly the reed tip area is where the gains are. thats why vforce are best
twice the petals twice the tip area and carbon thin reed petals make the response better

i did the carbon vito reeds and the 1/2" spacer and mine bogs/low idle, i am thinking it needs to be jetted, any ideas? it is stock carb stock needle, etc.

its too rich now ...lean out the needle one clip towards blunt end and probably drop the main one size as well ,watch the plug for problems

that'll work or you can buy individual jets from jetsrus.com kinda weird that it's runnin rich with aftermarket reeds on stock jet tho... you clean your air filter lately?

man, that's weird....you'd think w/ an a-m filter and hi flow reeds, the main would run lean....

the reeds are after the carb ,its a bottleneck
better responding reeds allow more fuel(and yes some air too) in ..often more fuel passes than the air though ,a proper air/fuel ratio must be established for the bike to run correctly ,in this case usually you would drop the main a couple sizes depending on other parameters of the engine.basicly if the new high flowing aftermarket filter cant cancel this richening effect out, then the main would need to be leaner to reduce the fuel to compensate

i ordered a jet kit, i think it goes 260-290, it comes with a 230 stock, if i put a 290 in it is it going to work?

doing a plug chop and learning how to read it is an invalueable tool to anyone who owns a quad, I recommend that all members learn how to do it. So many things affect jetting that a knowledgeable person can get you close on jet size but rarely spot on just by your mods/elevation.

evry bike is different youll just have to see and jet it accordingly

from your experience and if it was your bike, what would you start with? jettin is not really my forte, i can do it but i really don't want to be messin with it for a long time, i will end up buying a new carb, lol
