Please tell me how to put a crank seal in! I put one in with a socket that fits around the outside edge of the seal, then pressed it in with a press until it was flush. I must have gotten a bad seal because the collar was way to loose on the inside so it leaked from the inside ring. Put another one in and this one went in pretty easily with just a little pressure, just a couple taps with a rubber hammer (yea I know, crucify me for using a hammer) until it seated. Now I am getting a very small leak from the outside seal. I can hear it and the gauge won't hold air, it's leaks slowly.

Am I plain dumb or do I just have bad luck?

Yea I think the inside is good now, it's just the outside. What can I do to fix this? Replace it again?

When you yanked it out, did you catch the case area? Did you clean down the "crud" that builds up around the seal body over time to make sure that the new seal would seal on the outside?

I may have not cleaned the crud out well enough for the second one. I didn't nick the case or anything

I generally take some 220 grit or so sand paper and lightly sand the crud out of the cases. The rubber turns funky and sticks to the aluminum and stays there when the seal is removed.

hmmmm, I will have to do that when I pull this one out again. Ordering another seal *sigh* I miss the feeling of a running blaster

i miss the feeling of my leg not being sore every moring before i took it apart, SOB would never start

haha hows it going with fixing that? You will not believe how badly I want to part this biotch out! I can't give up now though, to damn deep to get out!

meh, its going ok still gotta call the local yamaha blaster to see if they got a gasket, i put my spacers, air filter and grips on pics soon but i didnt put my wheels on yet i needa fix my studs
