pipe/silencer combos

I seem to be full of questions today I have a DMC pipe but my silencer got pretty bent up and I don't really want to buy another pipe. SO my question is can I use any other silencer with the DMC pipe? I've heard the silencer doesn't really have any effect on power or performance?

Silencers barely have any effect, you can use pretty much any silencer, I have an f7 pipe with an old fmf silencer

Silencers come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. A long silencer with a small diameter enhance the low to mid power because it increases the bleed-down pressure in the pipe. A silencer with a short length and a large core diameter provides the best bleed-down pressure for a high rpm engine. Too much pressure in the pipe at high rpm will radically increase the temperature of the piston crown and could cause the piston to seize in the cylinder.

I know that it affects the power but not in an extreme sort of way like a pipe would

nope... not extreme but it does effect it..... so keep that in mind when your lookingg at silencers... short more top end long more bottom..

The fmf powercore 2? is that a decent silencer for low end?

yes it is... also the turbinecore2 is great and is a usf approved spark arrestor
