pipe problem

i have a fmf gold series header. i was wondering if i could put a dg muffler on it. i can get a hold of one for like 30 bucks instead of paying 100 dollars for a new fmf muffler. would the dg fit and run right? or will it run like crap? any help or suggestion are appreciated.
