when i'm wide open throttle in 6th gear i hear a pinging sound coming from the engine.not sure if it might be running a little on the lean side on the main jet or if i might have got a bad batch of gas. i'm running premium 93 pump gas . i have a 240 big bore that is set up to run pump gas. any ideas-Ryan

not enough fuel.. what main do you have in??

at first i had a 165. then went to a 168 and it did get better seemed like it was almost gone but still slightly thier. i figured if i put a 170 in it, it would probably be good. i was pretty sure it was a main jet issue but i just put new gas in it also and didnt know if that would have anything to do with it or not. the plug did look slightly on the lean side but i do mean slightly. so i think a 170 will take care of it.

definatly go up more!!! i ran a 220 all winter with a slip on and no air lid.. mine did the same thing, and my plugs allways looked almost dead on.. but higher gears 5th and 6th it would make akeek keek sound that stopped after i re jetted
