Hey guys i'm looking at doing some mods on my 2001 blaster. Right now the whole thing is stock but i have removed the airbox cover. I am buying some 20" Razr's and mounting on 9" .160 douglas rims. I am looking to spend about $400 Bucks on mods for the blaster (this doesn't include the tires)

I do mostly trail riding and messing around in the yard. The only thing is that the sound has to be around 96 decibels because of the damn WI DNR. I mean idc if it's a few off but not too many. Please let me know what you think i should do with the 400 bucks for the best trail performace. I run usually with a guy who drives 660 raptor and can stay with him on the corners but i lose him on the straight aways and would like to stay closer.

Also the shop near me sucks so i would prefer to be able to do all the mods myself, i'm fairly decent with mechanical things but obviously not a pro at it. Thanks, Ben

Also have a guy that will sell me a FMF gold series pipe and silencer with the proper jet for $200 so that would give me an extra 200 on other mods if i went that way. Thanks, Ben

honestly i dont reccomend anything fmf because at the top of the power curve the fmf falls off. if your looking for more power to stay with him on the straight away get a dynoport, shearer, f7, or lrd. watch ebay for pipes i won a f7 pipe with an fmf silencer for 76. also pro circuits arent bad

if your a bigger dude you may also want to get longer swing arm or some wheel spacers

for reeds i'd go with vforce3 or boyesen pro series

if you'd buy that pipe for 100 you could get boyesen pro series reeds on ebay for like $60 and still have enough for a longer swing arm

i run an FMF setup on my blaster and i blow past my friends 350 warrior.. and i only have tiny mods..:shrugs:

I'm 5'9" 150 so i don't wan the swingarm extension and i though about the wheel spacers but right now i'm working on the speed.

ok because from what most people tell me that the fmf fatty kinda falls on it face on the top of the power curve. have you ever been full throttle sixth gear and notice a drop off in power. and a warrior isnt hard to beat it has the same horsepower as a stock blaster

actually no i havent..ive ripped this thing as fast as it will go without putting the motor in to much danger..lol

nice pipes but problem is i dont care if god himself builds him a custom 2stroke pipe if that raptor wants to pull away on straights he's going to. no pipe will change that. thousands of dollars in engine work and maybe lol. the main buddy i ride with rides a 660r. and even with all my mods when we hit a long straight on a gravel road he walks right away without thinking twice.

fmf is a great pipe for the price when compared to other pipes of the same price range. same with pro circut. but yea if you want to spend and extra 100-200 on a pipe there are ALOT better pipes out there.

whatever pipe you choose will be alot better than stock. if your not planning on doing alot of modding to your motor eiher the fmf or pro circuit pipe will be fine, if you do plan on doing alot of modding you may just want to dump some cash on an f7 or one of the other pipes mentioned above
