OKO-Go-Go!!

Thanks blaner but atv world sorted it for me today they did put a Dgh needle in but he said my airbox is sucking too much air in so recommended half covering my airbox also replacing my k&n for a foam style filter. Thanks anyway tho buddy

mmm i dont know about that having too much air story...thats the whole idea!! the more air you can get into your motor the better! all you have to do is provide enough fuel to get a good combustable mix of air/fuel. what they are telling you is they have set the jetting and now you must adjust the air intake, thats the wrong way around! it should be get as much air into the motor as possible and then jet rich enough to compentsate. cutting off the air flow is just undoing all your cash you spent.

seems they are spinning you a web cause either they are lazy, or just cant get the jetting right themselves.

Not sure he said it's still a tad lean so I think I'm gonna go up 1 jet size as I use it on the road too so would rather it be a bit rich than lean. But was thinking of putting a foam filter on anyway. He seemed like he was well clued up too

if its still lean after its been "jetted" and he is telling you to give it less air means he is either lazy, ran out of jets big enough for you or just doesnt know what he is doing. either way, sounds like a dodgy mechy!

just go up a main or two you would probably be safe with a 165/168 with that airsal kit and all your fancy goodies. id think youd need a 60 pilot, 58 at least. id investigate a richer needle if i was you

He's gave me my old needle back but I'll whip it out n check. He couldn't have ran out of jets as I supplied him with jets from 140 through to 210! As for the idle I had a 48 in and it still took more than 2.5 turns to lift the revs on idle. He thought I had a airleak as he couldn't get it rich he said but I've checked it and it is air tight. Thanks for your input blaner and sorry for the thread jack

no prob, a 48 on a 35mm with your list is waaay to lean for my liking, i battled with mine thinking my 48 was fine, turns out its not! i need a 58. you should surely be much bigger than me. i dont know man, ride it a bit and do some plug chops and let us know what you find, does the motor get abnormally hot? does it pull cleanly all the way through? does it feel zingy? does it bog on pull off? all things to look for

It does feel zingy. And when I first ran it ot seemed to miss on the top end of first, I put it down to not being warm enough as it stopped after that! I'll have a mess tomorrow and see what I can do

mmm that miss is probably a lean bog, its what i had with a lean needle and lean pilot. like i said ,my problem was at the transition between the pilot system and the needle system, if your pilot is fat it will make the transition easier and then your needle may actually be fine, try switching in a bigger pilot. if you turn your air screw in, does it stall the bike? your slide should be all the way down. if it doesnt stall the bike, its too lean!

zingy-ness is also a sign of being lean
