Oil seal around shifter leaking

I was wondering if I can just side on a new one with out removing side case...

yep, you can put it in w/o splitting the cases. pick it out of there and put the new one in. use a socket to lightly tap it into place. i gotta do the same thing here soon.

just gotta take the shifter off and you can replace it. wouldnt hurt to drain the oil or tilt the bike so you dont make to much of a mess.

I do believe it is called the shift shaft seal if you need to order it.
