I just bought a blaster that has an oil leak. The person i bought it from said that he ran premix and put oil in the small oil pan on the side with premix. I know these use an oil injection system but he said it was taken off. He was still putting oil in the motor as well as premix in the tank. It is leaking out the top hole where it would feed into the carb but it seems to be everywhere so its hard to pin point the place of the leak. Any help on this would be very helpful. Where is the oil pump and can putting in oil without a pump and premix cause a leak. Thanks

Hmmm sounds like the prev owner was a tard. if you premix your gas you don't need teh oil tank anymore. you should also do a proper oil injection removal. having that tube open to the carb is an airleak that will shorten the life of your motor significantly. search in teh diy section for how to delete the oil injection

also premix at 32:1 with quality oil not weedwacker oil

thanks and will putting oil into the crank case like that without the hose being on there cause it to leak significantly like it is.

Its hard to tell but it seems to be coming out of the back of the crank case but again its hard to tell exactly where it is coming out of. But where he was putting in the 2 stroke oil it looks like its going into the transmission.

2 stroke oil goes into the tank under the seat, transmission oil goes in the right side of the crank case

Yeah what color is the blasters transmission oil and if transmission oil is whats leaking how hard is it to put in new seals.

multiple colors, there are many different brands ant exact types of oil people use. If its leakin externally it could be the seal on the sprocket shaft or the seal on the shifter shaft

Yeah oil is kinda all over the engine. This oil color is a clear gray color kinda hard to describe, but the oil is all the over the bottom end of the motor.

If they had the cases apart, they might not of sealed the 2 halves correctly... there is a gasket that goes between the left and right case, clutch cover gasket and so on... The blaster i just bought a few weeks ago was leaking tranny fluid bad and it was a stripped drain plug along with a missing shifter shaft seal

If it were me, I would clean the whole outside of the engine. Then it will be easier to find the leak and you won't be getting crap in behind a brand new seal. Pack new seal with grease, wrap shaft with masking tape to avoid damaging new seal, and tap in place with socket or such. There should be a gasket on the drain plug. Should be a hose on vent about 2ft long, it runs up by steering stem then loops over and down to prevent water from entry.

By description of oil it needs to be changed, if it's grey colored sounds like water has contaminated it.
