Hey everyone my truck (1999 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0) has been acting up. When i start it sometimes it will die on me, when i accelerate it like to jump and jerk. I talked to my girlfriends dad who is like a beast when it comes to cars, and trucks and he said it sounds like the O2 sensors is tripped. He told me there is four of them located on my truck. Do any of you know where they are located?!?!

fordrangerforum.com for all your answers

i have seen a few down near the catalytic converters, not sure where they all are ???
and you should be showing codes or check engine light, go to advanced auto or autozone and have the codes read, they should also be able to tell you were they are all located

my 99 exloder has 1 just after the exhaust manis an then 2 right before the merge into the cat. its also a 4.0 might not b the same engine but thats where mine r located an to change mine out i have to drop the manis to get any of them off... what ime planing on doing is drilling anm welding on new bungs to put the new ones in a easier spot.. my explorer was doing that an it wasnt idling the greatest an it was my fuel air idle control motor. cost me 120 bucks n was super easy to replace. to bad the gasket that came with it was junk an leaked air around it... that an a tune up fixed most of my problems but now shes running a lil lean due to my o2's hope that helps
