okay i cleaned my carb, it sucked when i got the carb cleaner in my eye, but im okay now!I:I Remember safety glasses guys! So i think the main jet had 230 stamped on it. Is that stock? And are you guys sure you turn the air screw clock wise to richen, it seems like a fuel jet! Now if i want to bump my main jet one size richer, would i go to a 300 or is the next size 330?

thanks man, im pretty sure its totally stock, so i think im gonna try a 240 cause its cold and its winter out here in the midwest! The blaster runs great. When i got it, the guy i got it from said it needed a top end rebuild and it ran and sounded like it did, so all i did was block off, mix32--1, replace air filter, and adjust air screw and idle and it screams, doesnt seem or sound like it needs any kind of a rebuild, i love it, but when i go for a balls to the walls run, it wants to do a wheelie when i hit 2nd, and just seems a little lean on top, and i looked at the plug and it does still look a little white way deep down in there! so u guys are sure u turn the airscrew on the air filter side of the carb to the right to richen right?
blasters are great for wheelies. they make wheelies easy...so its probly normal. mine always did when i rode mine. you can always add a longer swingarm if you dont like wheelies.

I know it sounds counterintuitive, but yes, you turn the air screw IN (clockwise, to the right...) to RICHEN the mixture. Unilke the finely-pointed mixture screws used to regulate fuel mixture on other float and pumper carbs., the airscrew on your carb has a blunt tip. It works by blocking off some of the air flow to the carb's idle circuit. Sort of like a choke. The farther in you turn the air screw, the less air will be permitted to enter the idle circuit, and the richer the engine will run.
It's a different principle than opening up the typical needle valves for more fuel. However, airscrews have been in successful use for decades, so I guess they work.
I understand the confusion. Haha. I'm a small engine tech who is used to UNSCREWING needle valves on the pumper carbs of weedeaters and blowers for more fuel, as needed. I have to stop myself and 'switch gears' before poking an ATV Mikuni carb. with a screwdriver...
The flat tip screw on the side of the carb is the a/f mixture screw. It controls the low end circuit. As for your leaning on the top end, if your at a 240 now. you may even want to bump it up another one. DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT THOUGH!!!
