It was slightly more snappy and it made the exhaust tone slightly deeper. i didnt have to change my jets and i did not play with the plug gap
Well, calm down before you go all thumbs up. I see two choices from nology, a 3.0 ohms core and a .6 ohms core. 3.0 ohms is going to put out less voltage than the stock coil, the .6 ohms is the "hot coil" and could damage the stock CDI (mainly if used for an extended period of time, which a dragger is not obviously).
Now, the .6ohm core is the coil of choice for the drag racers because it's going to throw more voltage (same watts, just more voltage and less amperage) and we already know it's been used with success, the question is, which core do you have? the 3.0 ohm or the .6 ohm?
The PFC-03s- .6 ohm. Been running it an the Blasty's 33 year old CDI since 08'![]()
How many hours have you been running it?That trailer queen of yours sits in the living room downstairs in a heat basement!
Is that the YZ400 CDI unit or the stock blaster CDI unit? The YZ400 might have had a .6ohm coil on it all along.....
Hey hey hey now!
I gone through 4 piston changes. Yes I'm running the stock 79' YZ400 CDI.
Lots of guys run the PFC-03s it's the goto 2 stroke coil for single lunger.
The .3ohm PFC-03d is the model for the Banshee everyone uses.
