No power at source coil?

I have no power to my source coil on my blaster, so i used the lighting coil wire it starts but runs bad could that be y or is the lighting coil alright to use.
 
So wait. You have put a DMM on the orange wire of the ignition coil and kicked it and you have no voltage there? But if you connect the stator output for the lighting system to the ignition coil wire you do?

Cuase if thats the case, your stator is your issue and you need to either get new primary and secondary coils for it (a stator rebuild kit), or a different stator.
 
I used a test light actually but had no power. Ther i switched the wires and kaboom it ran but badly
 
Well, then you have a problem with your stator like I said.

Not sure about any differences between the headlight circuit and the ignition coil circuit. Not sure about that. If it was my quad, Id find a known good stator and swap it.
