I have a problem with my 2000 Blaster. It runs fine but none of the lights work. Headlight, brakelight and the red light on the headlight assembly don't work. Any ideas what could cause the problem. I'm new to the Blaster and don't know much about these things. Thanks for any help.

Sorry, should have said I've check all the connections under the front cowling, under the handle bars and back to the break light. They all look fine. I even took most of them a part and cleaned the connectors.

Do you have an electrical tester? The thing that sort of looks like a screw driver but has a light and a wire coming from it. Test to see if you have electric going to the headlight.

I have a multimeter that checks voltage and continuity. I found a section in the Blaster manual for troubleshooting the electrical system. I'll check it out and see what happens. After reading it looks like I may have a bad voltage regulator.

did you ever work out what it was i just had the same thing happen to me i had lights when i bought the bike 3 days ago and between then and now the lights were pulsating and now they are just gone

damn did not realize how old the post was

I had an issue with my head and tail lights. On mine the bulbs kept blowing when I would change them they would blow again. I replaced the voltage regulator and they are working great now.
You can find voltage regulators in eBay pretty cheap or you can find a
New one on a Bunch of different websites.
I would check the bulb first to see if it is blown prior to ordering the regulator just to be sure.
