Western NY
Since I've been living abroad and acquired an ATV, I've been reading and hearing bad things about NY's laws with ATV's and such. I plan on moving back in a month and I want to make sure that if I bring the quad back I could 1- sell it or 2- register it and ride. If none of that will work I will try my hardest to sell it here so I don't have to deal with all the BS in NY. I would really like to hear back from someone. If you want, I could bring it back and sell it to you(lucky person reading this) but you would have to be committed to buying it. thanks!

New York state sucks as far as not providing any state land for public use with ATVs. You need to have your quads registered and insured unless you are using them to plow your driveway or farm use. But as far as riding in the state its all good if you know legal places to ride or get permission. As far as selling your ATV in New York that is not a problem, they are listed on Craigslist all of the time.

Agreed^ quads come and go on craigs all the time. You will need to spend the large amounts of money or have private land to enjoy it. Police are pretty strict about riding on the street over here.

Thats the problem with big citys lol, down here i can take
My blaster in a drive thru at our local resturaunt, Ive been stopped for a broken tail light on my blaster before lol

just move to NYC...... the cops won't even try to chase you lol....

I'm going back to Lockport to fulfill my commitment with the Air Force Reserves at Niagara Falls. Where are these "legal" places at? Also, how much does registration and insurance usually run? If things are cheap enough I'd love to take the Blaster back and ride the piss out of it with some riding buddies but if it's going to suck balls then I'd just sell it now. Let me know, eager to find out more info.

It cost me about 150$ to register with the bill of sale saying i bought it for 1400$.I dont have insurance and i dont think you need it to ride on your own land. Not sure about that. Go to dmv ny . Com and see what they say about.

First year registration I believe is $25 and $10 a year after that for renewal. I am paying less than $100 a year for insurance. There are places to ride Near Lockport. When you get back to the states send me a PM and we will ride some local trails.

I'm about an hour from lockport....I have tons of places to ride. ^^^^bummer covered the reggy part, not needed where I ride but it always helps !!!!

sweet. Then I'll keep the Blaster and bring it back.

Did you know that a car with a 49.6cc engine can be registered as a limited use motorcycle? I'm also bringing this back.
