Hey everyone. My name is Tim. I havent had an off road toy since i was about 9 years old with a little pw80.
I have had street bikes and love to tinker with my car but picked up a blaster for something new to play with.
I got it in trade for a streetbike project that i was working on ang lost interest in.

I am told it has a vito's 240 kit and got an extra piston with rings as well as extra spark plugs and various jets for the carb.

When i got it the P/O had broken the clutch lever and snapped the cable.
So i promptly ordered new parts which came in today. A few minutes of work and i wass ripping up the backyard with it.

I have gone in excess of 170mph on a street buke but i will say that this thing might actually be more fun.
I was intending to repair it and sell it but i decided i will keep it for a while.

Anyway here are a few shots of it.

If anyone woould like to give me a hand with some info that would be great.
The P/O pulled out all of the wiring
to simplify working on it but he also pulled out the kill switch so it is set to idle too low and stall out.
i dont like that very much at all so i want to put a switch back on. I am pretty good with wiring but if someone
wouldnt mind letting me know where the original kill wiring went that would be great.

also i am now entirely familiar with carbs but there are two vaccum hoses on there that are just ran down under the bike and are open.
im not sure where they should have gone. Heres a pic:

thanks

Welcome to the forum. Make sure you read up on doing a plug chop to make sure your carb jetting is correct. You will want to read up on how to do a leak down test. Two of the most important things to do to a 2 stroke to help them stay running.

hey tim, lil blasters will surprise you ha ???

the 2 lines hanging from either sides of your carb are vent lines, and must be kept open, should be one more from the lower back of the carb bowl, thats the overflow

heres some info,
call them the sacred sciptures if you will, LOL
read up on all of it, there will be a pop quiz on monday !!!.............

the downloadable blaster bible (open, click "file" then "save as" to copy to your desktop or other folder you can easily find)

/\ the wiring diagrams are in there to fix that kill switch, but generally find any black/white stripe wire, and switch it to any solid black or the frame, will kill the motor, pull the hood/nose piece, chances are the existing wires are under there somewhere

Is that the stock carb? Wow! If it is, get rid of it and get a 35mm carb. Upgrade that pipe and get that 240 ported if its not. Huge power gain with what I said.

Welcome ! I've only had my blaster for a year and it's more fun then my old streetbike and cheaper to work on then my mustang. This is a great site and the people here have taught me so much . Hope you decide to hang around for a while.

oh, and BTW tim, better get you some rappy/yfz heelgaurds off ebay,
to keep your feet/leg out of them nasty rear tires !!!
supposedly rappy 350's bolt right on, yfz's need a small bracket made to existing heel mount

Some of those links are not working for me but I will be searching those topics to find some info on them.

On another note. Do you know if ken oconnor is the same guy who used to own stingers paintball?

welcome to the forum! you're gonna have the mod bug REALLY bad pretty soon....looks like you've got a pretty good start on it

Is that pipe for sale on ebay now? I seen a gold painted pipe.

i missed your post completely. it is not my pipe on ebay. i am keeping this pipe for now. gold was the only high heat paint i had at my house at the time.

I have the mod bug for anything i own. I dont think i have ever owned a vehicle or toy that wasnt modded. Even my little beater civic has an acura motor shoved in there.
