Think i have it narrowed down to either a Banshee or a lt250r.

I have never ridden a lt250r but they are so cheap over here like blaster range. 600-1,500

I have ridden plenty of banshees. But on the trails they can be a bit much..

What say the masses give a reason why as well please. Experience with either as well.

i put banshee, but you should look into getting a trx250r. it blows the lt250r outta the water, and with some engine work, will give a modded banshee a good run. but overall the trx is the best quad. decent power and amazing handling and pretty cheap.

I have looked for trx250r's around the area. They are all over 3 grand. Speed is not the issue handling and comfort are here. But i wont ride a work quad yuck.
Raptors and yz400 come up from time to time for around 2000 though.

would love to have another tecate but they are same damn hard to find.

I rode this one yesterday it was nice. All stock. Looks new. There is hardly any chips on the frame it has been stored more than used. Plastics are a little effeminate though.

I try to buy sport bikes as close to stock as possible. That takes some of the i have been abused factor out of the equation.

if you want comfort, a banshee really isn't your cup of tea then.
it cost money to make a banshee a decent trail quad. stock, they will beat your body up.

I cant believe there is no love for the lt though. There allot bigger than the blasty and put some power down in stock form.

a stock lt250 doesnt make much power.
and 98, it doesnt matter how good you ride a banshee, in stock form, they abuse your body in the trails.

if you do get the lt, don't get an 85-86, the suspension is not very good

try to find a 91-92 if possible

I'd stay away from the 85-86 LT. No powervalve and the front suspension is a little different. They did have a round axle carrier, but the swingers aren't too strong. The 87+ are powervalve with the 87 being the fastest due to having the biggest intake. The87-92 all have the same front suspension. The 91-92 have the RM style rear suspension.

I am probably one of the few people here who have had both the LT and a Banshee. A Banshee doesn't handle very well. A LT will take more money to make faster though. A LT is more rare, if that matters. Aftermarket parts for an LT are a little harder to find, but not impossible. Banshee parts are everywhere. A LT will weigh less. Maintenance on a LT is cheaper since it's 1 cylinder and not 2.

Just get an LT and throw a 500 engine in that biotch.

Sounds good. I am looking for something nimble like the blasty but with a bigger frame. Its hard riding a blasty when you are 6'3. The lt seems like a full size quad frame.

I love tecates too but they are hard as hell to find around here.

Just because you read sh*t about quads dosnt make it true ok for all you people saying the the trx 250r is faster than the lt stock your very very wrong. Look it up the lt was the fastest between the trx and the tecate. It handles the worst though. The trx was the best for handling the lt is the best for going all out. the tecate was just and all around machine. I have actually owned all the of the legendary 250s and I can prove it. Sadly all I have left is a LT. I have ridden a stock banshee and I like it but the LT handles so much better. Just get the lt unless you want to drag then get a banshee.
