Hello everyone, My name is Ira and I live in SW Washington state. I am 31 years old and as far as a profession goes I just graduated college with a degree in Computer Science. My other hobby is working on my 92 Honda Prelude. I have turned every bolt on it in the 8 years I have owned it.

It has been a long time since I have been riding but I am itching to get back into it this summer which brings me to this forum. I just picked up a 1999 blaster that has had a YZ465 engine swapped into it. It runs and rides but is in pretty rough shape seeing how the last owner cut up all the plastics making his homemade exhaust "work" outside of the frame and on the wrong side!. I plan on going through it before summer and getting it into good shape. I just made my first purchase. A stock blaster exhaust that I can modify to fit the 465! Other plans in the near future are new/good used plastics, extended swing arm, and new/good used wheels and tires. I would post pics but it looks way too ugly as it sits. Not for long though!!!

welcome, sounds like a lekker project you got there, im not sure if running the stock blaster pipe will be a good idea for that motor?

lets have some pics!!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I completely agree Blaner, the exhaust is going to tame the beast for now. I really don't need the full power of the 465 until I get used to such a large engine on a small frame. Eventually I will have an aftermarket FMF for the 465 fabbed up. Alright, alright here are a couple pics of the ugly beast ;)

I am looking to upgrade the blaster suspension, brakes, axle, swingarm, and wheel and tire combo as soon as I get it mechanically sound. I am new to blasters and quads in general and am wondering what kind of hop ups can I get from some of the larger Yamaha quads such as banshees and warriors? I really want to get the suspension upgraded seeing how I am a 250 pound gorilla.

400ex shocks would work all the way around(as long as you have +3 a-arms). I've seen complete shock sets on eBay for around $100.

So I found out that I actually have an IT465 engine which is the same as a YZ465 but with a fifth gear!! Like I need it lol
