Just picked up 2000 Blaster for my daughter. I ride a KX500 and a LSR Outlaw Banshee with a 7mill fuel injected motor. Looking to add some stuff to this Blaster. I am looking for a rear brake setup. It has a seized up caliper. Also maybe suspension mods. She is 8yrs old and a natural on it figured the clutch out first day. She is cautious but I like that. Should be fun!

What year is the blaster? Any mods?
I suggest a leak and compression test.
if its the old version (which i figure it is because of brakes) I suggest the Awk08 gsxr conversion kit. I rode my brother with that and it stops way better than my new version hydraulics.
Suspension, what are you looking to spend?
The Blaster is a 2000. I paid 500.00 for it! It is stock all it needed was some tires and the back brakes fixed. Any idea on the cost of the gxr conversion? I am in the 500.00 range for suspension. For now just want to get the ride right. It has more then enough power for my girl stock. I got 18'' tires for it out back and 20' fronts and oil injection block off so far. I will post a pic later.
I think the best thing for a younger rider is to widen it.
It may cost more than you think, but it will be so much more stable.
A set of spacers is about $30
Extended arms are pushing 450-550
As for axle, i am unsure if you need the 03+ carrier, so i wont say anything on that.
Shocks.
Rear you can use a 400ex shock and its nice
front is 14.5 inches. stoch banshee shocks are said to be an improvment. otherwise blaster/banshee aftermarket shocks are good.
Do NOT buy some cheap crap, get used works on the front

welcome to the forum ,i would personally widen and extend it just a bit the blaster is a very torque filled bike hahaha .
Thanks for the replies. I have 92 parts Banshee. Is there a thread with parts that will bolt up? Like the axle, carrier and rear brakes? The gsxr conversion sounds right price wise if the Banshee stuff does not bolt up or close to it I will snag that. I am leaning towards works for the fronts and the EX rear shock. Banshee fronts are garbage on a Banshee.
