hello, I recently purchased a 1999 Yamaha blaster in excellent shape. I am 14 years old and have much experience with Polaris atvs, particularly an old 1986 trail boss that i found behind a barn and i recently sold it, i had it down to the frame several times and i did a lot of engine, trans, electrical, etc... work to it. So I know a fair amount about atvs and always do all my own repair work. However that atv needed more money than it was worth and was just a piece. So i sold the Polaris and looked at many atvs that i thought would fit me and decided on the Yamaha Blaster, and so far i like it a lot. I actually was doing some wheelies on it a couple of days ago and broke my arm, so I'm dieing to get back on it and ride, but i cant for a little while. So i just thought i should join a forum for when i run into any problems beings that I'm not real familiar with Yamaha atvs. thanks

well if i did everything right this should be a picture of it, I'm not to good on computers, Thanks for the replies and yea I'm sure ill be driving it sooner than i should, but oh well.

thanks, and just out of curiosity how often do you guys have to rebuild your top ends?

32:1 is typical , thats what I run , and have been told to run , 40:1 is a tad heavy , and people I think foul more plugs at 40:1.

UMM....32:1 is heavier then 40:1! its 32 parts gas to 1 part oil! and 40 parts gas to 1 part oil!

with this equation that means that one part oil is split up among the parts of gas so it will be spread thinner over the 40 parts then the 32.

(oil ratio calculation for MEN) 32:1 is 32 women to one man! AWSOME! 40:1 is 40 women to one man!EVEN BETTER! BUT here is the catch, your trying to split your attention between all these women in this ratio! same with oil! its trying to be everywhere at once so it is spread thinner!

each part of gas will have a very small amount of oil in it! and this tells you how much gas the oil is spread between.

that means 32:1 is more oil...40:1 is less oil!

I would run 32:1 if I was you just to be safe.

Welcome bro, good luck with the arm healing and hope you get back out there soon.

32:1 is perfect to mix at, for any bike setup with block off.
Any questions ask away!!! I:I
