check the sparkplug, check the ignition coil wires, umm check your stator wires and check your compression.. oh and also see if the parking brake is 1. attached and 2. on
to check spark plug simply locate it on the top of the head and using a sparkplug socket take it off, then attach it to the boot again and hold it really close to the cooling fins of the head/cylinder and have your son ( or you ) kick it over, the spark should be a healthy blueish i believe I could be wrong, to check compression simply put a finger into the hole where the sparkplug came out just enough so that it seals up a little bit and again.. have your son kick it over.. if your finger ejects from it rather "healthily" then your compression should be fine.. if nothing happens your have no compression and prolly need to A. bore and buy a piston, B. check the rings that are currently on it, or C. resleeve and buy a new piston. you should know how to operate the parking brake if it is on. and using a multimeter check for resistance from before the ignition coil box, all the way to the boot. you must remove the seat and the fuel tank to get to the ignition coil. to check the stator the wires are on the left side if your sitting on the bike o the right side if you are facing the front end.. I dont exactly know which ones are the stator wires you can prolly look that up somewhere. now if youll excuse me i need to breathe :-p.

baster backfires

took it apart and the top ring was stuck to piston!! took the ring out cleaned it all up every thing looks good. waiting on gaskets to put back together. would this be the problem and what caused it? the person i bought it from said he had sta-bil in the tank and the bike was seating for some time. anybody around mid-missouri looking to buy a 88' suzuki quadzilla???????
