well this is my new 40:1 thread because the last one got shut down but its all good nowI:I anyways so i was asking how good is the 40:1 gas/oil ratio. and from the answers i got i think im going to stick with 32/1, so i changed over to 32/1 im runnin spectro sx2 synethic oil, i like it its pretty good. anyways i wanted to post a pic of the last plug chop i did, it was with a 280 main jet and 40:1 ratio, i did a 4th gear WOT run for like 4 seconds. tell me what you guys think of this plug, how does the color look? thanks this pic makes the smoke ring look a tiny tiny bit darker than it really is

Good choice on 32:1, just about all guys on here run it and can comment.

I cant really see the brown in the pic, if it were me I would drop in a #290 and try one more chop.

If you have now switched from 40:1 to 32:1 you would have effectivley leaned out the fuel/air mix by about 1 jet size. More oil = less fuel!

Try to get a close up pic of the insulator.

I like to run on the rich side, the little loss of power more than compensates with the peace of mind, that if the temp changes I may still be safe.

That's not bad. Like blaaster said, another jet darker is definitely safer...but I think that looks pretty good...your looking for cardboard or biscuit color.

It is not a shameful thing to drop in a bigger jet.

If you have a #320, put it in, you will not blow anything.

If it is too big it will blubber or 4 stroke but do no damage.

Nothing is concrete when jetting a 2 stroke, to coin a phrase, "all things can, and will vary"

Light brown is classified as biscuit or cardboard colour in my book.

Do another chop and hang on to the WOT for as long as you safely can.

Make sure it pulls as hard as you can make it, maybe hold it back with the back break some.

The idea is to get it pulling as hard as you can for as long as you can up to 10 secs.

Try to pull it WOT through all the gears.

here it is this is 300 main 32:1 32.5 pilot and 4th gear wot and tried to get into 5th. it might have gotten darker if i couldive gotten into 6th gear wot

sorry the light in the room made it hard to take a good picture

So very hard to see, try getting into a darker setting and flashing it.

You are getting a great ring, but it is very hard to identify the colour.
