NEEDING HELP BAD TODAY PLEASE!!!

dont write on that other thread air box mod lol...
if it sat out in the winter outside check for rusty ground connections, clogged exhaust from animals building nest, broken baffle inside the header pipe ect.......
and yes you would be better off properly cleaning the jets that were in the carb, then that moose crapo_O mikuni made the carb, not moose:D

by removing the air box lid, your adding more air into the motor, creating a leaner mix.

I'm wondering if that the Moose jet kit you bought gave you some "off size" pilot or the wrong needle.

I'd go back into the carb and see what jets and needle are in it. Genuine mikuni jets are what everyone goes off of. an off brand might not be made to the same toleraces.
okay. does milikuni still make kits? and ill check with it. i believe i need to jet up

sorry i have a few tabs up and got confused. im new to this lol. we cleaned all components on quad except back fenders under neath. other wise it is all cleaned. and everything so far matched very well. do u need to rejet to make it leaner?

nothing was wrong it was bought new in y2k and this is the first rebuild. starts one kick. no problem. one kick every time! it makes no sense to me bud. and i couldnt find a uni filter when i bought the twin air filter.

Call carb parts warehouse. They sell all the jets you'll need. You better off buying them individually than in a kit. That way you get the ones you need.

You need to make sure you get the float level set right first otherwise jetting is just a guess. Are you pre-mixing, if not are you using proper oil in the tank? I'm not sure but I think lack of oil would cause a fuel rich condition and fry your engine at the same time. Take it one step at a time as a process of elimination starting with the floats. Need to know what jet is in there now. Also leak testing is very very important and should be done after every rebuild and twice a year

first rebuild ever,since 2000?
did you get cylinder honed or bored?
is piston in backwards?
comp tester at an auto parts store is 30 bucks,it should be near 120psi:)

pre mixing and putting in gas tank. 40:1 ok. everything is stock including wisco rebuild kit

starts 1st kick. stock bore. just got real weak before we decided to change. cylinder was honed, not bored. right before every rebuild your supposed to hone for like 120 seconds right?

you should premix at 32:1=4oz per gallon.
wiseco pistons need to be warmed up longer before taking off as well.
if i owned it i would be doing a comp test, good chance you might need that cylinder bored to freshen it up and add compression, maybe you can rent a comp tester at auto store?

ok. but will re mixing fix my problem? im just looking to try and fix my richness and my airbox problem where if its off it runs great if not it don't

You said your pre mixing, in this pic you put up the oil injection line is still hooked up. Is the pump disabled? If its not its either sucking in air, or whatever is in the tank lines.

i dont know if it is or not. ill ask my pops. but i know that before this it ran good and considering its running rich air is good right?

my dad said its all been "Blocked off" and he runs 40 : 1 because at mark iv where i live he bought a yz 250 that was eating plugs left and right so he puts 3.5oz of klotz in per gallon.
