Been having trouble getting the engine to fire. I was able to fire it one time pretty easy and ran for about 5 seconds and died. After that I have been unable to get it to re-fire. For a while I had no spark at all. I went through the troubleshooting in the manual and discovered that the woodruff key broke. I have since replaced the key and got spark back but bike still won’t start.

I have used the guides on the forum to disable the TORS system on the bike although the carb block is still present (It will go away soon). I am getting fuel to the Carb, I think the float is adjusted a bit high but not 100% sure how to adjust the float. I have even tried a shot of ether with no luck. My next coarse of action is going to be Leak down test the motor this week, probably on Friday since I coach youth football in the evenings. I will also inspect the reeds while I am in there.

Am I missing anything? This is a fresh engine complete bottom and top end rebuild. The motor is the one pictured in my rebuild thread

check the reeds for all 4 petals intact while you have the carb out, it's posible to view them from the shifter side rear tire/shock area with a flashlight, without taking the intake off

I pulled the carb off today after mounting up AWKS GSXR rear brakes and I discovered, I missed it the first time, as I don't know these carbs. I don't have any jets in the damn thing. It's missing them both along with the brass washer. The splash shield is in there though, LOL. I don't suppose anyone has and extra parts laying around that I could use. I guess that also explains why when I removed the pipe it dumped gasoline out of it! HA..the things you learn..... I guess I need to drain the fresh oil I put in it too now from the bottom end to make sure it didn't fill with fuel even though the gas was always off.

Drain the oil? There's no need to drain the oil. It's in the trans and not in the bottom of the engine. The oil in the gas lubacates the bottom of the engine.

Keep the pipe off, remove the plug and kick until the exhaust port stops spitting fuel.

Make sure the carby has been drained before you do this operation.

Replace the pipe and spark plug and with the gas off and the throttle and choke off, give it a few kicks, it may just fire up.

I don't suppose anyone has any extra parts laying around that I could use ? .

i should have some stock carb jets laying around.
what mods and what size main ?
texted you also, lemme know

Thanks a bunch for the help guys. I don't know how I missed that the carb didn't have jets i it, although I wasn't looking for them either. Kinda one of those "I assumed" moments I guess.

AWK - I will get the picture to you as soon as I finish eating my egg whites and Spinach I:I

Happy to hear you figured out what the problem was, and I must say I admire the fact that you actually did some searching and troubleshooting on your own before asking questions ... Some other people could definitely learn from you. Have some rep !
