Need some 89 LT250R info.

2 lt250r for sale Great deal if I had the money.New bottom end on both.The guy said both motors where just redone but fryed the top end do to lean jetting.That sounds good but I would want to see paper work proving the new bottom ends.
 
Is it hard getting parts for it?A/m and stock.

Parts for the 87-90 are easy to get aftermarket and stock and there is alot more available for those years. Plenty of exhausts, a-arms, swinger, front shocks. Ebay has a ton of stuff.

As for the 85-86 it is alot harder to get front shocks, only really 2 aftermarket pipe available and almost impossable to find aftermarket a-arms. But the rears ends are the same on the 85-90.
 
Not really you can get the 85-86 to have as much power. But the biggest benefit of the 87-92 motor is it has a external reed cage just like the Blaster. The 85-86 has one reed under the jug. Plus the 87-92 has alot of options for the exhaust, LRD, Dynoport, FMF, FTZ, Paul Turner and some I probaly missed. For the 85-86 you have FMF, AAEN that you can still get, but the AAEN you have to get lucky and find one on eBay or have them make you one new. I think there is a Koofman pipe to but not sure.
The pwer valve on the 87-92 arent like the powervalves on modern bkes, it is more of just an exhaust valve.
 
also dont the 85-86 only have a 5 speed tranny... that 6 speed makes a difference too.
 
from the front frame motor mounts and pipe bend, I am almost certain that is a 85-86. Im not sure that the 85-86 swinger will interchange on the 87+ so thats another sign for me...

The non-T seat I wouldnt worry about, its not nearly as much of a T as the zilla seat. most plastics you can use either T or straight seat. I have a straight seat on my 92 hybrid because thats just what I prefer.

The swingers are interchangable between the 85-90. I have a 87 for mine. And I know guys who put the 85-86 on the 87-90 cause it is easier to adjust the chain.
 
I know everyone bashes the 85-86 but with the right set up they are just as good as the rest IMO. Just limited to the A/M.

You can also long rod the 85-86 motor. You use a 87 rod on the 85-86 crank. I know a guy who is working on a 8mm long rod for the 85-86 and his is a drag quad.
 
Im looking for somthing that scares the hell out of me when I peg the gas.Somthing I don't have to spend big money on to get it that way.No.I don't have the money to buy a new one ether.
 
How do you mean engine swap. The best engine wsap for an LT250 is to put a LT500 motor in it. LT Hybid as they are called.

Oh there is one thing that I forgot to mention the 85-86 LTs are lighter than the 87-92. I believe they are 295 LBS.
