I have a 89 blaster i rebuilt but i am looking for more power/hp. my sig should list most things i did. when i started with the motor it was toredown so i don't really know what a original blaster has for power... riding wise. i do know i need to increase the front sprocket because first gear is worthless and sense it's a 12 tooth it's going anyway. the compression is maxed out for pump gas .035. i would like to try running high octane but was told big bore's don't like high compression. i want the most power out of this thing. money really isn't a huge deal. i am thinking of advancing the timing 4 degrees but don't want to sacrifice top end. i would like anybody's suggestions.

with your mods you should regear it with 14/38 sprockets. get yourself an alluminum airbox, the stock one is too restrictive

instead of aluminum airbox i went and bought a 2 inch rubber flange for pvc pipe from my local hardware store i ran that from the carb and cut the original airbox tube length down to except everything for length wise. then i bought a small section of 2 inch pvc pipe and a couple of clamps and ran that from the carb to the existing cut air filter tube. was cheap plus it kept my stock look. i also run no air box lid. i like stock look when i race sombody haha.

The pipe will make a huge difference. You could always go with a longer stroker rod, and a good port and polish by Flotek if it doesn't already have one.

hey flyers,

the biggest i could find is a +4 stroker . if you have a link or something that could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

well, my advice is to call the guy who did you port and polish job and ask him what pipe needs to go w/ your port.
modifying the exhaust port shape and size makes a huge difference in the way the 2 stroke motor functions and you absolutely HAVE to match up the right pipe to the port job. if you're guy ported you for low end and you put a top end pipe on there, you're just holding your engine by the balls.
after that you can get a bigger carb. that oughtta help out.

also, there are reasons why the 4 over stroker is not as good as the 3 over. i'd say stick w/ the rod you've got and make very sure that your port timing is correct for your stroke. and again, get the right pipe.
are you using the spacer w/ your stroker or did you get the head modded when you got your compression milling? also, did they tune out all your squish measurements?

quam,

i understand that pipe/port carb combo . port guy knew what i was going to use. i told him i was going to use vito's fat bastard but thinking of changing my mind for pipe.

guam,

everything was done to not! use spacer plate.yes everything was done as a combo together with +3 stroker . was head, jug, piston and stroker all worked on as a package

wat r u running for reeds?? get some v force 3 reeds and definatly get a nasty pipe those will change everything.

yes i plan on getting pipe very very soon. just had to sink a bunch of money in my truck for winter. was wondering what else i can do to squeeze more power after pipe. and yes i have v 3's already.

lol pretty much gettin up there man. just go with 14/38 gearing, maybe mill the head for race gas or just pump gas. only other thing i can think of is nos lol.

port, milled head stroker, gearing, carb, airbox, tires,(stickers make it crazy fast!) tires (bigger =more speed) and thats about it... lmao u could prolly do some crazy sh*t though..

maybe like a better cdi and sh*t but idk if it realy helps and like a highperformance stator but idk.. ive heard they dont do sh*t
