I cant seem to get this bike to idle. It has 162 main and 52 pilot now until i can figure where i need to be, i should be close. I have to keep burping the throttle to keep it running. It could be the cable, not sure. I tried the idle screw and it dont change the idle. This motor is new to me and so is the carb so i am just trying to figure it out. I searched here but found nothing that helped so far.

A bit of advise for being in a hurry, never leave the cotter pin out of a front wheel, Yes i snapped the brake like and luckily i heard it snap and i was just putting along or it would of been bad.

Its a 35mm airstriker.

I believe my culprit is i cant get the slack out of the throttle cable. Not sure which route to take now because i fully adjusted it out and i have some play in the cable. I guess i need to buy a diferant throttle?

Really not sure what cable it is because it came with the motor as well as the twist throttle i am useing came with the blaster. I have around 1/4 inch of slop after I adjusted all the way out. Damn that carb is a tight fit on the blaster, lol. I hate to remove again it if i have to get another cable. Not sure if i should get a new cable or twist throttle because i aint sure which is the problem?

Throttle cable shouldn't effect the idle. Your probably too rich on the pilot, try going down 1 size. The needle bleeds down and effects the pilot also, so if it's rich it could be causing the issue.

I might have to go from a 52 to a 48 or something. I have several smaller sizes and i started large. I have a 42,45,48,50,55. The 42 was in the setup when i got it. I wasnt sure if the pilot jet would cause a low idle or stalling. From what i read the cable must be free of slack to use idle screw and the screw dont change anything now when i adjust it. I aint sure if the cable must be tight to allow idle screw adjustment?

I would go down to the 50 first. I've never had the Airstyker, but quite a few PWK and OKO and slack in the cable would effect nothing. The reason being is the idle screw pushes up the slide and loose cable or not the slide would move up. Like I said never had the Arstryker, but I'm sure it;s the same.

I havent showered yet so i am going outside to change it, got me curious and thinking,,thx and i will re-post what happened with a 50.

Try your smallest and work up. I was amazed how small of a pilot I ended up with.

The cable slack shouldn't be an issue, as long as you have some. On a PWK it will just keep your throttle from hanging, which is good. It is the PJ where cable slack is important for being able to use the idle adjustment.

I might do that, i need a few ayrstryker 35mm folks to chime in for more advise. I never messed with one myself.

Got up this morning with a fresh head and found out it was where the guy previously disconnected the tors he did not solder the wires and only had them twisted together and it wasnt makeing a good connection. Alls well for now. That pain in the ass tors strikes again.

I started the bike again to do another heat cycle and the damn thing wont idle again. I think i am rich running but when i first got that tors wires back hooked together it was ok and it would take an idle. I really believe its in the tors wireing somewhere?? I need help before i part this sob out and buy a can am renagade.

thank you finally someone else who has been pulling their hair out trying to figure this carb out.::::::))))))

so much appreciated!!!!! where the hell is tors located btw?

yes i do and ive been having literally the same probs as you. i bike runs like a top in any stage but idle its so frustrating. where is tors located on a blaster?

Ah, so now it's a TORS prob? LOL. What year bike do you have? (sorry, I can't remember)

Sounds waaaaaaaaaay to rich.I have keihin 35mm on my kdx 200 and with dyno port header, boysen reeds, uni filter no lid,pro circuit silencer, milled head, ported cylinder, geared and I run a 45/158 jetting with a CGL needle on 2nd clip from bottom.I think you're way too rich and need to go down a few jet sizes.just out of curiousity what motor combo you running?
