I have found a blaster on craigslist and the guy is asking 550 dollars for it. the problem is the top end needs to be rebuilt. is the guy asking to much for it? what would you pay for it?

if its in good shape then I think it'd be worth it. A top ends only about 200 so you'd have about 700 in a running blaster

you will use your cylinder that comes on the engine. take it to a machine shop and ask them how much it needs to be bored, then get a piston and gasket kit off fee bay or something.

this is what it looks like. what do you guys think?

How hard would it be for me to rebuild the engine myself. i dont know anything about them but would be willing to take on the challenge if you guys dont think it will be to tough for me.

Looks like a good start, I was actually looking at that blaster this weekend. Is the front end strait? Just wondering cuz in this pic the front looks kinda tweaked.

If you are close to me and need any help just let me know.

id go look at it and make sure all the bushings and bearings are tight and check the frame for bends and cracks if all is good its definatly worth that and the top end rebuild is pretty easy but if you dont know what your doing id go buy a clymer manuel it will help you alot its written for beginners and very easy to follow

if you look close at the picture it looks like the ground is unlevel. i have taken some pictures of my mojave on uneven ground and it looks like that. i have some other pictures of it where it looks just fine.

if ur gonna own it and ride it u need to be able to work on it. just my opinion...gets really expensive and frustratrting when u have to pay someone else. plus u will have the satisfation of knowing its done correctly and next time it breaks no prob fixing it!!! there is a pdf on this web site u can down load...or just ask questions..
