i got a 2000 blaster. only thing done to it is that its bored .5. to get it started i gotta hold the throttle all the way. then it starts and dies down. im thinking its not getting enough gas. can someone please help me with this.

it all started with a blown piston. it ran fine before then. i bought new cylinder head and piston bored .5. I installed that. then started it up. it started at full throttle and stalled. i didnt do a leak down test. not sure how to do so. as for the gas. the tank was empty and i put fresh gas in. im about to take the carb off and clean it out. the plug is about a month old its fairly new. the reeds are also a month old they look fine. spark seems to be fine.
Yeah, pull the fuel line off the carb and open the fuel valve. You should have a steady stream of fuel coming from the tank. If it only trickles or drips, you've got a clogged screen in the fuel petcock and will need to remove/clean it.
sounds like u got a dirty carb,u runnin a filter off the carb or a stock box? check ur fuel line, petcock etc

im getting gas to carb fine. im also running thru filter. i took carb off and just cleaned. just waiting on new spark plug to get hea. i tried to start now that i cleaned carb and it wont start up now.
Do you have fire? That inline fuel filter can be removed; there's a strainer screen built into the fuel petcock and an extra in-line fuel filter CAN restrict fuel flow to the carb. This is probably not your problem in this case, but good to know.
yea its firing like it wants to go. sometimes itll start then just shut off. im hoping its just the spark plug thats shot. its just starting to get to me now lol
damn i am thankful for this website and all your help... it starts up now. it ended up being the spark plug. i appreciate all the help thanks again
Glad to hear you got it figured out! Funny how many headaches a bad $ 3.00 spark plug can cause.
