hey guys. i just bought a 2004 blaster to fix up for my senior project for highschool and the bottom end needs a rebuild. I've seen some videos on youtube about how i should go about doing it but is there a certain way to do it and how long and difficult will it be? any advice would be appriciated.
thanks

+1 to the clymer manual. i got mine on amazon for 16 bucks. see em on ebay for 20-24 bucks shipped. also check out those videos from i believe rocky mtn atv? they are very helpful! it isn't that nuch of a pita if u have the proper tools :] i just have trouble with loosening bolts lol

screw the clymer.. get a factory yamaha manual.... clymers do work well as coaters or kindling though..

realisistically if the engine is out you can tear it down and have it all bakc together in a couple hours tops... thta is if youi have the parts you need already... do yourself a favor replace the crank bearing and all the seals. both parts are often overlooked but very vital to and enigne running properly for a long period of time..

i agree if your gonan do the lower end anyway why not do a stroker.. hell you can pick the cranks up for $130-$200.. your already there might as well do it... then you just gotta pay for the portwork and the head work... looking at a difference of about $500 once you figure the crank, portwork, and head... if you gotta buy a crank anyway your looking at a differnece of $300.. and really EVERY blaster needs some head rechmabering and portwork done to run real good anyway...
