Hey guys,
i just got my blaster the airbox is missing, no silencer and a leaking KeiHin PE 23AASKI Carb

Now i orderd a FMF silencer, a new Rear fender with airbox and a KN filter!!

But now i try to find out what kind of Jetting, how to set the needle and the main part is how to do all that!!

could somebody held me???

Ihno

i know its anoying with the new guys!!

my main problem is the language! I normaly life in germany! Im just for 4 years in the states! My English is not the best, and its really not easy for me to understand all this stuff!! specifically with this carb stuff!! i never tuned a carb! and i really dont know how to do that!!

hmm...idk what to say. maybe they make a german carb tuning guide? try googling it. at least u can speak more than one language..thats more than i can say for myself haha

lol,

the main problem is that they dont sell the blaster´s in germany!! and there is also no forum like this in germany just for blasters!!

well at this point you're getting into territory where you have to generate some general know-how and do some trial and error.

just look for a carb tuning guide for 2 strokes that has been written in german

Hey GermanDude, welcome to the forum! First off, here is my favorite jetting link. I think it is clearer than Yellow Dog.

Secondly, a PE? That carb isn't even considered a performance carb. I hope the number you gave isn't indicating that it is a 23mm. That would be smaller than stock. You should seriously consider a PWK28. They can be gotten used if money is a problem, and they are a BIG improvement over stock.

the number on the carb just starts with a 23!! I measured out the inside diameter on the engine side of the carb and that was 28mm!! I cleaned it up one more time, it stops leakin!! tomorrow o get my airbox+filter!! on monday probalply the pipe!! and then i start the jetting!!

Besides the silencer, is there any engine modifications? like reeds, or engine engine porting?

with some searching, i was unable to find any info on this carb. that number doesn't exist.
but a PE carb isn't a bad carb and will work with his set up.

when it comes to tuning the best thing to do is keep records.
like you need to know what jets you are currently running, what mods are on the quad and so forth.

i would suggest buying a little notebook or you can use microsoft excel.
make a table like this.

Well, cool. A 28 PE sounds better than a 23 any day. Obviously taken off another bike because Keihin does really sell those for the aftermarket. It might have come off a Honda, but I didn't have any luck with the part number. I believe PEs use the same jets as PJs and PWKs, if so it should be easy to get jets for.

Not sure what the stock jetting for that carb would be, but with a pipe, good filter, and no airbox lid, I would start with a 40 pilot and a 140 main. It would be interesting to know what jets it has right now.

Float setting should be 14mm from the float bowl gasket surface to the top of the float (highest point). The important part is hold the carb sideways when setting the float so that the float just contacts the spring-loaded needle and does not depress it. Setting the float is critical, so do it before jetting.
