My recent "builds"

Here's a couple of my tile jobs, at my house.

Nice work tony !
but i don't see that much difference between the 2 rock patterns, I actually like what you did better than the second pic., he should have just left it as it was.
My thoughts 2, the main difference, besides column size, was rock size. He just didn't want it to have such a stacked look. Going from 1-1/2 or 2 inch rock to 3-4 inch rock makes a big difference on the "pattern". I'll get some pics, maybe wed, it has made quite the difference, and its going faster now 2.

Nice job on the tile Fast6

Thanks. Nothing major but it was fun.

Ok dug up some old ones of the biggest kitchen remodel in history lol. I forgot to resize these, sorry. This was at the beginning

After all the demo and basically re-framing the floor (because of sag) and ceiling (because of removing a wall and adding a steel beam) then there was tile

Everything except the cabinets, this bar ^^^, the matching floating slab light, and the gas lines, was done by me and my crew.

I couldn't tell you man, that was between homeowner and the decorator, I guess. I do know that thing is mack daddy, dual fuel, conventional or convection, price tag was around 10k , not including the hood, which was a couple k more, plus me having to reframe the floor in order to get the ductwork installed. I can say it cooks a pizza well:D And that's not a beer fridge, its an ice maker. The bar is some type of maple, looks even better in person. Oh and btw, this is the same house we're doing the rock columns for. These people actually give us around 3 months of work a year. We spent most the summer there already. When we get the columns done, we have to redo a retaining wall around their septic tank and put a stone patio (on sand) on top of it. The whole house is built on rock so the septic sticks tank sticks up pretty far, I don't know where they coulda put the drain field.

I thought that was your kitchen.
Ha Ha I wish. That was a $400k job. The cabinets alone were $200k. They're African hardwood Sapele and the guy had a 20 some step process for distressing and finishing. The slab for the bar and light were like 6k. These people have crazy money though, it was 2.5mil dollar house and they paid it off in 6 months, and did like 100k in work the first year. We actually worked for the po and they kept us on. Truly awesome people too, they are gonna finance the property I'm getting so I won't have to deal with the bank

Nice work dave, I've never built a bees nest before lol

Haha, those were in the ceiling when I started the demo. They weren't active so it was safe to remove. What a stink and mess they made.

Got some pics of the rock today. First is roof for the rain we had this week

Worked good til a gust pulled our stakes out on one side. You can kinda see where we're at on the rock before we started Monday. I didn't work yesterday because I had to go to atl to get my girl from the airport. Anyway here's where we were end of day today.

We spent a couple days on this when we couldn't work on the rock. Same house we repaired the woodshed at.

It took a few days because I had over a day in using my rotary hammer to bust rock that was in our way. 4 post holes had rock, and out of those 3 were about 12" thick.

Here's a fixture I made awhile back that I was gonna sell, but I think I'm gonna keep it for when I build a place.

And thinking about pulling these off ebay for the same reason. They've been on there for a year with tons of watchers, so maybe I'll just keep em

The second pic was after we tore out the upstairs and covered with fresh plywood before we left for the weekend. They had a shower kit with faux marble panels that set on a base, and only sealed with caulk. The same joist the plumbers cut had a tub centered on it too. As the floor sagged with time, the caulk failed and water was just pouring through the seam. Here's what it looked like at the end of today, and how we had to work on it, it was a pita
