This is a comparison between my new 2001 frame and old 2002 frame. It looks like they are custom mounts on the 2001 frame, but I can't see anything left from the old ones. Also, can someone tell me if there are any shocks that might fit in these smaller mounts? I weigh 117 and this shock is even too stiff for my friend who weighs 190. It only compresses about 2 inches when I jump on the grab bar, and when I go over whoops and jumps, it hardly compresses at all.

looks like a ohlins shock. its probably not even close to being valved for your weight so y dont u try to find someone to set it up for your weight and riding style it would probably be just as cheap or cheaper than buying a new shock.

I didn't know it could be adjusted since I know nothing about shocks. The previous owner used it for street racing which is why it's so stiff. It is not possible for me to adjust it for my riding style?

first Ohlins are great shocks. and they arent cheap either. second the preload looks like its cranked (the threaded collar on top of the spring), turn it untill it has very verly little pressure on the spring. now the little nut on the top side of the rezzy thats sticking out, it should have what looks loke a screw head in the middle. turn it counterclockwise untill it stops (dont force it) and go try riding it. Report back when your done soldier.

That is definitely an Ohlins shock, one of the best shocks you can buy. Do what phragle said to help you get by for now while you save up money to get it revalved for your weight

Thanks. I will report back in hopefully a week, sir. I am waiting for an air filter and 300 grit sandpaper. Just to be sure, turn the nut counterclockwise, not the screw?

smooth looking set up , yeah you can tell its a ohlins shock , cause you know , it says ohlins on it . I wonder where it was street raced? Jersey? are quads street legal in Jersey? I know they can be ridden in some states , not sure of all of them though

I can't find anywhere legal to ride in New Jersey other than Atco, which is an offroad track. I just go to pits that I find.

I turned that screw and it is definitely a little softer. I can lift the rear up and the suspension decompresses about 3 inches. Does this mean I should tighten the ring things above the spring? Also, can the front be adjusted by turning those screws?
