As some of you may know, my 04 superduty diesel crapped out several months ago and I didn't want to put the money into fixing the motor and slipping tranny so I sold it and bought this old girl. It runs fantastic , is 100 percent unmolested ( no hacked wiring harness, no butchered body work, no jury rigged anything ) and was owned by an old man who passed away. I'm an old school guy who doesn't give a damn what people say about me and don't need to impress people by driving something new so this fits me perfect. Instead of spending money on a new truck I went old school and am using the money instead to build a 30 x 40 x 12 pole building so I'll have room for all my toys. I'll post pictures when they break ground which should be in 3 weeks or so. Enough of my rambling, here's the ole girl

that ole fawd. looks clean for what it is. too bad it ain't a short bed.

My buddy that I grew up with had a 75 shortbed, we raised a lot of hell in that thing when we were teenagers ! The floorpans have been replaced but the rest of the truck is good shape. It's got a nickle sized rust hole in the cab by the drivers side window if you can understand what I mean, but the bed, fenders, cab corners and everything else are solid. There's surface rust on the underside of the truck but nothing worth worrying about.

according to the title and speedo it's only got 68,000 which is believable because the truck is very tight, everything works, and the drivetrain is strong. The 390 gets the truck and trailer up to speed without breaking a sweat.

nice truck bro !!!!!
i noticed it sitting in the backround of your blasty vids

I don't worry about gas mileage. I have a little ford ranger to beat around in . The truck isn't great on gas but it's not terrible either. If I had to drive the 73 or the mustang everyday I'd be in the poor house lol. I've got to put 20 bucks in the mustang just to drive to the stor and back lol .

I like it a lot! one of my friends had one of those in high school as well and we tore sh*t up with it!

Stuff today just isn't built to last like it was years ago. When you shut the door it feels like you are closing the hatch on a tank.

Almost makes me regret selling my old truck. It was a 1946 Dodge. I bought it from the middle of a field for $200. My dad and I had this big, elaborate plan to fix it up. Never got around to it, and someone offered me $500 for it. Sold it without thinking twice. The guy was going to turn it into a street rod and put a small block Chevy motor, in it. :( It never ran while I owned it. Sort of wish I still had that beast.

Now that I'm done reminiscing; Nice truck. :)

So you used to have the old 6.0L too aye..... I got a 05 super duty. Sounds like you should of joined powerstroke.org to learn about the 6L probs and how to prevent tragic damage. I just dropped a grand in mine to bullet proof it (coolant flush, oil cooler, pod guuges, 5" exhaust, turbo rebuild and such). For you to sell it im guessing you melted a piston or got hydro lock. :(

Thanks, I know how you feel, I've had a few vehicles that I wanted to fix up but sold instead and wish I would've kept em.

I'm a member on powerstroke nation. I know about the oil cooler upgrade, head studs and egr delete. My plan was going to be to fix the transmission first and then do the motor work next. I just never got around to it. I liked my truck but I wasn't married to it like I am my mustang and my quads. I used the money I got out of to buy my old truck , finish my blaster, pay for a motor rebuild for my daughters blaster and put a nice downpayment on a polebuilding.

Yeah thats understandable. Im surprised that you already had trans problems with a 04. Did you haul alot or run bigger tires? And what happened to the engine?

I bought the 04 used, you could see where it had a plow on it and there was a brake controller on it so it definately got used. it had just under 95,000 when the head gaskets gave out. I think the programmer was to blame .

This is what you have to do to replace the head gaskets on the 6.0 liter diesel superdutys.
