Well, this is what I came up with for a replacement lid instead of the stock lid, there is just a strip of stick-on gasket around the edge with more near the hose, its not completely sealed, well, maybe thats ok i guess. and I forget where I got the flexable hose from...I think a plumbing store, hahaha.

I like it and it does the job!

What I used to polish it, is a german polish called 'autosol',#1 with steel wool (extra fine) #2 finish with a rag.

I used it on my sled's aluminum tunnel and it was amazing!, No power tools were used!

I want to get all the scratches and nicks out completely to make it look really shiny!

For the polishing. its already sorta polished, so I would start with 500 grit wet sand, and work my way up to 2000 grit. Then get a can of mothers aluminum and mag wheel polish and a clean rag and rub in a curricular pattern until it turn blackish/ gray, and then use the other dry side of the rag to buff away the excess
hope that made sense:)

i use alot of sandpapers from 200 to 1000 then use mibro compound and a wheel on a drill..
results are like a mirror..

Im thinking of trying a little wire wheel in a drill to get the deep scratches out first, then use the steel wool + polish, and finish with the polish on a rag.

I just cant find a buffing attachment for a drill!!!!! ugh..

why dont you just remove your lid or drill holes in the stock one and cut 2 legs from pantyhoes and put it over it for like a screen thats what i did

lol,

I didnt have the stock one to begin with so I "made" this...

I wasnt going to pay like 50 bux shipped for a stock one on ebay, thats just plain stupid.

looks good.. nice job..i just cut some 18wheeler mud flap up i got from my dad and covered my air filter to keep some of the water and mud out. seems to be working well.
