I was bored and had the day off and I really don't care for the color red so here's what I got done today. I'm not done but I'm exhausted and this took from early this morning till about 1/2 hour ago.

I half assed the rear plastics because they were pretty trashed and I want to get the new raptor style ones anyway.

I've still got to clean up the motor, detail the axle and spacers and polish the nerf bars but I'm beat so that's it for now. I hope you enjoyed my ghetto revamp.

Thanks for the compliments guys, and yeah, I know it's a lot of blue ( it actually looks like more blue then it's going to be because of all the overspray on the motor ) When I detail the engine it will really tone things down . I'm also going to break it up with some white shock covers and the polished nerf bars will add some bling between the wheels and this will help break up the blue too. This was done on the cheap as the money tree is pretty much on life support right now. I'm far from done and this will not be the last you see of me or this build. Thanks again for the compliments and suggestions, keep em coming !

Nice man. Do you like the way that paint turned out? I just bought a can of the Cobalt Blue Mettallic to try and see if I like it.

I was originally going to do lime green with project blaster green decals and green shock covers but my daughter wants to do hers green so I didn't wanna steal her thunder so I chose this blue.
I actually like it a lot, you can really see the metalflake in it. I used 3 cans of it to do my frame and springs. I put a few coats of clear over and I'm going to let it cure for a week or so and see how it holds up. I used fusion white for the plastics

i would recomend 4-8 coats of a good clear over the paint, mainly where your boots rub, and the bottom of the frame and a arms to help protect the paint

Cool man. I actually was gonna go witha straight blue till I saw this at the store. Was wondering how well you could see the flake in the paint though. Guess I will go ahead and give it a try on the sprocket hub I already painted blue and see what it looks like. Good job man. You should post some pics of the Notch too. I:I

But true metal flake paint is also not bought at a hardware store for like $7 a can...

I think it looks alright for a spray job. I wouldn't have sprayed everything like that but I took mine down to the frame when I got it (it needs it again little knicks here and there) and started from the ground up.

dont be fooled spray can flake looks nothing like real flake paint... flake spray paint looks more like blue with silver sparkles... true flake is big chuncks of metal flake in the paint

Yeah I dont expect it to be show quality. Just has to look better than my stock scratched up silver on my budget which is slim to none. lol

Like I said I had the paint and I was really bored. I really like the way the paint sparkles and it looks great. I fully understand that it probably won't last but my plan is to just make it look decent till I can gather all the parts I'll need to build a badass motor ( stroked crank , bigger carb, and big bore cylinder ). Once I have all the supporting parts I'll completely strip the blaster and have it powercoated while the motor work is being done. I'll add some more coats of clear to try to get some more protection ( thanks for the tip ).

what a shame. that will never last it will look worse then it does now in no time at all. if you weren't gonna do it right you should have just left it alone
