Hey, I get my license in about 3 months. My step dad told me he can get a me a 1994 ford ranger from a guy he works with for $200. Only thing is it needs a motor. He said theres no dents or anything on it and the front and rear bumper were just replaced. He said theres no rust or anything on it....would you do it? Is it worth it to put a new engine in it? How much do you think an engine will be??

motor swaps for me are a weekend thing...if ur confident in putting one in,then go for it...ur 16,its ALWAYSSS good to know how to work on what ur driving. This will be a good exp for you bro. 200 for the truck and 4-800 for a motor for a yard. go for it.

well, i think it'd be worth it if you and your pops can wrench a little. it should be somwhat plug and play with a ranger if you get a coordinating motor i.e. same year and size. id go for it, look around for a cheap motor, compression test it, and try to snag it. even if you have 700-1000 bucks into it, it would be worth it to have a solid truck to drive. you can always get somthing else later, but a man can ALWAYS use a truck.

Yea whatever you do dont put a 4 cyl in it, i have poop power lol i haaaaate it, you know what would be awesome..... a 7.2 liter v8 turbo diesel in that mofo lollllz

my dads got a 4 cylinder 91 ranger stickshift. not a lot of power but suprisingly was he was able to tow a car all the way from toledo to youngstown up hills and everything about a 2 hour drive. good gas and has taken a big beating
