Mud/Sand tires

I want to get new tires for my trip to silver lake, and I have thought about picking up a set of paddles. The only problem is, I would only be able to use them for that one trip. (I live 8 hrs away so its not like I'll be going more than once a year at most) I think What I would really like to do is pick up a set of mud tires that I could use around here and at silver lake. I know they would not be as good as paddles on the sand, but At least I could get a lot of use out of them around here. Also I think the mud tires would do better than the knobbys I have right now(Kenda scorpions) on the sand, please Correct me if I'm wrong. So now I need help finding a set of lite weight mud tires for 8" rims.
I'm not going to buy bigger rims since I already have two sets of 8" rims for spares on a golf cart.

I really want something like a 20-10/11-8 with a flat profile and lots of aggressive lugs on it kinda like a hole shot with mud lite tread. And I want it to be lite weight like under 17 pounds. Probably could only be 3 or 4 ply at the most. They will be used mostly for mud and sand, and a little bit of trail. No track or road use.

We used a set of dirt devils last year at Silver lake... They were a last minute purchase since the paddles we bought were out of stock, and we NEEDED something.. They are quite heavy we had the 2 on stock wheels weigh in at 52lb. They did not work exceptionally well until we flipped them and ran them backwards Then they were better, but still sub standard..

im like you ruthless, i also go to silverlake once or twice a year. first time i went was with my stock rears. it was okay, but the next time i went back was with some sandstars on the back and to me the difference was well worth it (Y)

The ones on my raptor, holy crap they hook up amazing! I keep up with my friend who has a 4 wheel drive quad. We go through 2 feet of mud, water, and other sh*t. I can stop dead in 2 feet of water and just putt right out like nothing!

I think I can still get a set of hauler paddles off ebay pretty cheap. I thought about getting them and mounting them on one of my spare sets of rims. Then just selling them after my trip. Or maybe trade them for some mud tires. I could really use a good set of mud tires around here this time of year. The ground around here right now is the consistency of dog crap mixed with play-doh so my knobbies are not the greatest.
