I think the bike was worth more than the car the guy was using to transport it! lol. He might not have even needed a trailer...they make moto carriers designed to go in your hitch reciever. Not that you coulda put a Class II reciever on there, but still...
My buddy had a honda accord, I told him I would get a piece of c channel and bolt it to the trunk and roof to haul his bike. He didn't go for it. HA Ha.

I have a class 2 on my Bonneville and tow two quads, granted i've put two trannies in , but have since added a HD cooler and so far so good!
