mothballs in gas??

I would be worried about the possible build up in the pipe. The old moth balls contain a lot of naphthalene which is derived from coal tar. It is also one of the main compounds in creosote (the stuff that forms in chimneys and burns houses down). It is highly flammable but I'm not sure if it would give you any benefits (I'm assuming your trying to prevent knocking). I,ve heard of people using it before but, I would be worried about possible build up in the pipe and the possibility that it may become corrosive to the carb or abrasive in the cylinder.

The problem here is, I don't think they still make these kind of moth balls anymore or so I here. Let me know if you find out otherwise, as I have uses all my own for these kind of moth balls:D

what is a mothball??

Its a ball of moths, the really big tan ones you find near lakes. They dry them up and crush them into a powder. then they add an oxyhydrolene compound and smoke them on a pipe that looks like a bong. It has similar results to smoking weed but it cant be traced.

J/k moth balls are used to keep moths away from fabrics which they eat they smell really strong and are unpleasent to be around. I guess the fumes are strong enough to kill moths

lol moth balls..i never heard of using them to increase octane..why dont you try OCTANE BOOSTER haha..i know i know your trying something different..acetone doesnt sound safe..why dont you convert it to run on methanol. get a special carb and increase your compression and boom! meth gives you a 15% power increase, allows the engine to run cooler but you use 2x as much fuel.

what about acetone?

from wikipedia.

"Some automotive enthusiasts add acetone at around 1 part in 500 to their fuel, following claims of dramatic improvement in fuel economy and engine life.[9] This practice is controversial, with only a limited amount of systematic testing which determined that acetone has no measurable effect or may in fact reduce engine life by adversely affecting fuel system parts. However, no actual statistics were provided.[10][11] The effect of acetone on fuel economy was addressed on the popular American TV show MythBusters in 2006, in which they observed a decrease on fuel economy.[12]"

im not trying something new or diffrent its been done for years by old school racers.. i was just wondering if anyone had first hand experience with it.. and acetone is supposted to help with gas mileage and has been mixed with gas for awile now.. not really new idea's..
and i cant even find race gas.. im sure meth would be imposible for me to get..

so you would mix the acetone with the gas then mix it will the oil ?? would it react or something
