i just dont want u to get halfway through it or somewhat through it and be overwhelmed by it and give up, u are going to need custom parts for this too and its going to be expensive also. was it a running engine when u got it?

Don't worry, it's not too bad. The biggest thing is to check the alignment of the motor a good dozen times before welding in the mounts. You don't want it to throw a chain because it's off. Got the wiring and everything for it? Get stock hand controls and too and work from there.

Again, let me know if you need help on the mounting cuz it's basically the same as the 250 I just did. And motor mount bolts are 10mm... Not easy to come by so ur probably gonna have to order em... 150mm length should do. For all 3 points. Another thing on the tank clearance instead of shimming it is to drain it and let it clear out, then with a heat gun, soften up the plastic just forward of the petcock and push it in a bit. Other than that it shield fit nicely. Also, u will need to get a proper spacer for in between the swinger mounts. Might have to have that made but it shouldn't be too expensive. Pods make tuning a little tough on these but patients and You will be fine. If in doubt, go rich. These motors don't last too long when lean.

I'll try and get some closeups when I get home tomorrow for you of what I'm doing. Take it with a grain of salt though as mine is untested asnof yet tho.

idk bought links i say go big or go home. with all that weight of the motor being flung around id so long and wide

its nice your building that quad as a tribute to your lost friend, i will deffihetly stay tuned.

was your friend wanting to build this quad or did you just decide to make it for him/her? just wondering.

he loved quads and aways thought that a streetbike motor in a quad was the most bad ass thing.

Slick... can you get a shot from the left side, but take the picture at the same level as the quad/motor? gotta see how high that sprocket is. Also, try to find a large towel to cover the whole top of that motor. Things will tend to sneak in there otherwise.

That rear sprocket is running really high compared to the swingarm.

You probably need to get the front two tubes (the ones that run from the shock mounts through the upper control arm mounting bar and down to the lower frame rail straightened out and then cut the lower two tubes out and make a "drop down" section for that frame to get the chain aligned better.
