Measuring stroke

I need to know how exactly to measure the stroke on a blaster. My buddy just bought a blaster and the owner claimed it had a +3 stroker in it. He wants to have some work done to it, so we need to know the exact length of the stroke. So I guess my question is... Do you measure from end to end of the rod, from center of eye to center of eye, or from beginning of eye to beginning of eye.

Also, is there any way to tell by the markings on the rod how long it is?

if it has a +3 it should have a spacer plate or some head work done to it.......post some pics of it

Has a spacer place, but no head work that I can tell, but I'm also not as good as you freek. I'll post pictures tomorrow. almost midnight is too late to go to the garage.

if u can see the spacer plate than most likely its got a stroker in it

Suppose the guy just threw a spacer plate in there to make it look like it had a stroker? Would it run wit ha spacer plate and no stroker? The guy was kind of shady when we asked about it.

thats a good ? i would imagine it would run like crap with the port timings not lineing up right......if its a vitos crank u will see the blue stuffer blocks as u rotate the crank.......just pop the cylinder off and u will know right away

bring the piston up to TDC, zero out the caliper and then rotate the motor so the piston is at BDC measure that distance and you will know the stroke.

also read what the rod says..wouldnt it said vito's on it ? i didnt look at mine long enough to notice but that would be a surefire way to tell no?

take a string and a pin.....drop it through the spark plug....measure it at the top of the strock and the bottom (with a caliper).....idk what stoke stroke is soo....

stoke stroke? did you mean stock stroke? a stock stroke would be 57mm or 2.244 in.
