what do u all think ok makin tierods out of original tire rod ends but middle out of a strong piece of pipe wit like a rod somehow logged in middle an bolts welded on inside of pipe or get a thread pipe somehwere do u think they will hold up? i wanna make it a lil lower an a lil wider without spendin to much money an i got the tools to make the stuff at home atleast i think

well i got to friends that took 2 years at vocational an i know the one is real good an can lay a nice bead

give it a bash, but maybe consider using high tensile bolts... just remember once you cut up originals, theres no going back unless you look for spares

I made a whole new tie rod when I made my widening kit. I bought some 5/8" rod and tapped the ends to match the ball joints. The left hand tap was about $15 and the rods where only around $10.
I have also cut and welded the old ones. Just make sure that you bevel the material if you plan on grinding it smooth. I think I have a picture of the old modification. I will post it if I can find it.

you could easily take some solid metal tubing and turn it down on a lathe and tap the ends. only problem is 1 thread is reverse threaded so i belive you need the 2 different taps for each tierod.

IMO, would be very ghetto if you welded the cut off threaded ends of the stock tie rods to longer metal.
